Slaying the scapula and neck pain course is designed for the massage therapist. This course will provide the new and experienced therapists with the foundations of evaluating and treating neck and scapula issues. The function of the scapula is often overlooked and when not addressed, outcomes can suffer. In this 2-day course, the therapist will learn Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) of both the upper extremity and scapula for assessment and the treatment of neck and scapular issues. Manual therapy techniques will be taught for the neck and scapula.
Supplies needed: Students will need to bring a set of sheets with a face cradle cover. This is a hands-on course, and skin to skin will be needed, so therapists need to bring/wear a sports bra or swimsuit top for the lab sessions. Massage tables provided. Class will be limited to 20 participants to provide individual hands-on practice. 16 CE hours for Massage Therapists with instructor: Patti Wakefield PT, LMT NCBTMB #451792-11.
