    Sterile Processing Technicians perform and participate in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment. These Technicians play a critical role in preventing infection by sterilizing, cleaning, processing, assembling, storing, and distributing medical supplies. The central service department of a health care facility is the hub of all activity surrounding supplies and equipment needed for surgery and patient care.

    National Certification: This class prepares qualified students to sit for the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Certified Registered Central Service Technician exam. 400 hours of hands-on experience within 6-months of passing the exam to earn the full CRCST certification OR have the 400 hours prior to sitting for the exam which is what is recommended. Job and Externship Placement Services: Regardless of if you elect to pursue national certification or not, if you enroll and successfully complete this program, assuming you pass a background check and drug screen, you will have guaranteed access to our Ready to Work (RTW) Job and Externship Placement services. All students who successfully complete this program (and pass a background check and drug screen) will have access to the RTW Externship or Job placement services at no additional cost.
