Ready for a unique skill? Traditional blacksmithing techniques that have been used for thousands of years to shape steel into usable everyday objects. Covers the basic history of blacksmithing and provides hands-on instruction and practice of traditional blacksmithing techniques. Includes heating steel in a coal forge and shaping steel into usable objects using a hammer, anvil, and other traditional tools. BRING: REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT (to be discussed at first class): Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Appropriate clothing & footwear, Leather gloves. FIRST SESSION LOCATION: Midway Village Museum 11:00-12:00
