Audubon Birds in Watercolor

(Ages 10-Adult) In this watercolor class, you will learn how to paint different birds in their natural settings by viewing a youth edition of prints by John James Audubon, the French-American self-trained artist, naturalist, and ornithologist. These prints will be the inspiration for your watercolor art. You will learn both Eastern and Western watercolor techniques in order to paint your unique version of the following birds: band-tailed pigeon, wild turkey with chicks, white throated sparrow, pine warbler, bald eagle, goldfinch, cerulean warbler and great-horned owl. There will be a class discussion after each lesson to share and discuss your art with the class. Drawing and watercolor experience would be helpful but not required for this class. SUPPLY KIT: Purchase Supply Kit ($30) from the instructor the morning of the class.
