Death is a topic often shrouded in mystery and taboo, and yet it deeply touches all of our lives. The aim of this class is to pull together a broad array of topics related to death through a spiritual/magical/metaphysical lens in order to demystify what happens when we die, and how to meaningfully engage with the process of death and dying for our own benefit, the benefit of our loved ones, and for the communities we serve. This two hour seminar will examine a diverse array of death-related topics through a metaphysical lens. We will discuss the definitions and types of death work, global spiritual philosophies on the afterlife, death deities and other types of physical and non-physical beings related to death, and how to engage meaningfully with all cycles of death work.
